1995 Founder of Visage Architect

Dato’ Zainal Abidin has been a Professional Architect practicing in Malaysia and the United Kingdom since 1988. Upon graduation from the architectural school, University of Nottingham, he joined the reputable architectural concern, Percy Thomas Partnership in Nottingham United Kingdom.

Percy Thomas Partnership is one of the five largest Architectural practice in the UK, having more than 10 branches in the United Kingdom and worldwide. Among the most significant contribution during his 3-year employment with the company is leading the architectural team for the design and construction of the British Embassy Leisure and Recreational Centre in Amman, Jordan.

Upon his return to Malaysia in 1991, he took employment with a leading local architectural practice, Akitek Jururancang Malaysia Sdn Bhd. There he was appointed as the project coordinator for the prestigious hotel-cum-resort, The Datai Bay Resort in Langkawi.

Dato’ Zainal Abidin subsequently joined Binateras DEG Akitek and was appointed as Director in 1994. His responsibility includes the day-to-day running and management of the office coupled with the procurement and implementation of architectural jobs. His job exposure and experience includes a wide variety of building types ranging from multi-storey office tower, hotels, factories, shop-cum-office blocks to residential bungalows.

In April 1995, Dato’ Zainal Abidin set up his own practice named VISAGE ARCHITECT. Soon after Visage’s establishment, the firm was already busy with numerous projects. With the assurance of our most commitment, Visage was given the trust and honour to undertake multimillion projects ranging for residential, commercial, office complexes and public buildings located in many parts of the country.
